PBAT
Description
The PBAT, polybutylene adipate terephthalate, is a compostable and biodegradable polymer used mainly in the film process.
One of the most interesting characteristics of this material is the possibility to optain it from both organic and fossil sources. Therefore, the supply of industrial quantities is always guaranteed according to market needs.
It has the following certificates: Vincotte, Ok compost and BPI and FDA.
Some of the most important features and properties of the PBAT are:
-
Good binding properties;
-
Good insulator;
-
High flexibility and resistance;
-
It can be customized;
-
It complies with UNI EN 13432: 2002 (relating to packaging) and UNI EN 14995: 2006.
Application
Types of technologies
-
Filmatura

PMMA
Description
PMMA, poly-methyl methacrylate, has good optical properties, high gloss and scratch resistance. It also has a low coefficient of shrinkage and tends to develop less depressions in geometries with sections of different thickness. PMMA can be used as an alternative to polycarbonate (PC), when are required characteristics of high transparency, resistance to UV rays and/or scratch resistance . It has a high resistance to impacts, to chemical agents and has good resistance to aging, high rigidity, optical purity and dimensional stability. Furthermore, it is easy to work it and it has a good tensile strength.
Applications
Types of technologies
-
injection molding
-
extrusion
-
thermoforming
