PET

Description 

​

PET, polyethylene terephthalate, is part of the polyester family, is a thermoplastic resin composed of phthalates suitable for food contact. Depending on the production processes and thermal history, it can exist in amorphous (transparent) or semi-crystalline (white and opaque) form. It is also used for its electrical properties, chemical resistance, high temperature performance, self-extinguishing, molding speed. It is also indicated with the letters PET, PETE, PETP or PET-P.

Applications

  • Bottles for soft drinks, fruit juices, mineral waters.

  • Particularly suitable for soft drinks, cooking and table oils, sauces and condiments, and detergents.

  • Trays and containers, jams, fruit and dry foods.

  • Pre-cooked food trays ready for heating in a microwave.

  • Sheets for pre-cooked food, snacks, nuts, sweets, long-life confectionery;

  • Other PET products with a reinforced oxygen barrier for beer, fresh products vacuum-packed such as cheeses, meats, wines, condiments, coffee, sweets and syrups.
