PBAT
Description

The PBAT, polybutylene adipate terephthalate, is a compostable and biodegradable polymer used mainly in the film process.
One of the most interesting characteristics of this material is the possibility to optain it from both organic and fossil sources. Therefore, the supply of industrial quantities is always guaranteed according to market needs.
It has the following certificates: Vincotte, Ok compost and BPI and FDA.

PA - NYLON 6, NYLON 6.6
Sniax offers the possibility of supplying the base of NYLON with controlled viscosity for the production of compounds.
With the opportunity to choose between a high quality SLOVAMID or industrial, more competitive polymer, PLASTAMID.

Description

Nylon has a very low weight (1.14 for both nylon 6 and 6.6), has excellent toughness, good elongation (from 20 to 60%), excellent elastic recovery and resistance to repeated bending and wear. It has a good resistance to alkalis, even very hot and long, a remarkable resistance to mold, bacteria and insects.
Nylon, like all polyamides, is a hygroscopic material, which means that its performance in conditions of extreme absence of humidity or high temperatures can change or reduce considerably. It is therefore recommended to consider the types / sizes of the pieces also based on the environmental conditions of the final use.

-
Nylon 6 is a semi-crystalline polyamide polymer obtained by caprolactam polymerization. It is a thermoplast. Its hardness and at the same time lightness, the high resistance to traction, compression, traction and impact (even in difficult environmental and temperature conditions), the low coefficient of friction, abrasion and the strong power of attenuation, make it a privileged choice in mechanical industry. It is not resistant to powerful acids, but has excellent resistance to wear and weathering. Even if subjected to continuous efforts it maintains its performance.

-
Nylon 6.6 is a white, colorless fiber that resists moisture very well. Nylon 6.6 fibers are very elastic (100% recovery, 8% deformation), recovery is total if the elasticity limit is not exceeded. Abrasion resistance is very high, among the highest known. Its melting point is at 250 ° C. It can be used at 150 ° C for about 6 hours. It has good resistance to alkalis and can be boiled in concentrated caustic soda without effects, while a strong attack comes from acids, to which it is sensitive even if they are diluted.

Applications
Nylons are used mainly as a textile fiber and to produce items. In particular in the following sectors:

-
MECHANICAL pulleys, bearings, shock absorbers, sliding components, wear guide, supports, wheels, chain tensioners, etc.
-
FOOD: it is guaranteed, and approved by the regulations in force, for users who foresee contact with food.

-
CHEMICAL: resistant, and therefore suitable, for inorganic and alkali compounds but not for acids.

-
THERMAL: the mechanical peculiarities of this material make it perfectly performing in environments up to 125 ° C.
